Everything you need to get reading at speed — plus a direct line to the team. Most questions are answered in a few minutes by email at hello@readit.fast.
How to use Readit Fast
- 1
Install from the Chrome Web Store
One click. No account required to start. The free 200 WPM tier works on every web article you can open in Chrome.
- 2
Open any article and press Alt + R
The reader opens in the side panel. Readit Fast extracts the article body, strips the noise, and starts streaming words at your reading speed.
- 3
Adjust speed with the WPM slider
Start at 200 WPM. After 30 seconds your brain catches up. Most people are comfortable at 400 WPM within a week. Pause, rewind a sentence, or jump to a different speed any time.
- 4
Sign in (optional, free) for 350 WPM and stats
No payment. Sign-in unlocks a higher cap, OpenDyslexic font, and local reading stats. Bookmarks and queue stay on your device unless you explicitly turn on cloud sync.
- 5
Upgrade to Pro for the full 1,500 WPM ceiling
Pro unlocks Speed/Skim/Scan modes, PDFs and EPUBs, semantic chunking, AI comprehension quizzes (bring your own API key), adaptive pacing, and cross-device sync.
Default keyboard shortcut is Alt + R. Change it any time at
chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
